More than just your typical art gallery, the Pilar Pobil Celebration Gallery is named after world renowned Spanish born artist and Utah resident Pilar Pobil. The exhibits displayed in this gallery are curated to reflect her wish to, “provide a place for art to bring out the best in our souls.” We pride ourselves in celebrating the diversity of our community and promoting local artists as much as possible. The Pilar Pobil Celebration Gallery provides a place for the community to see and present great art, every day, for free.
The Bridge, Plaza, and Crescent Galleries house small collections of artworks by local artists, small travelling exhibitions, and educational displays. Most of this art is for sale at accessible prices.
In all our exhibition spaces, we encourage the expression of ideas, values, public education, and civic engagement. Our team works directly with artists and collectors to bring the best artwork to the local community. We use our expertise in displaying and presenting art, artifacts and information in ways that build appreciation for diversity and enrich the community.

De tumbas y flores (Of Tombs and Flowers) offers an in-depth look at one of the most significant celebrations in the eastern region of the State of Morelos: the Day of the Dead in the town of Zacualpan de Amilpas. In this community, where ritual practices maintain remarkable historical continuity, the festival is experienced as an act of collective memory that reaffirms family ties and a sense of communal belonging. Through this selection of images captured during the preparations and the main days of the festivities, the exhibition reveals the symbolic richness and meticulous detail involved in creating the ofrendas (offerings), as well as the residents' active participation in constructing a shared ritual space.
The Monarch Migration

Artist Inez Garcia’s “The Monarch Migration” is a mobile, site-responsive project combining sculpture, performance, and community storytelling. Drawing inspiration from the transborder migration of Monarch butterflies, Garcia transforms wearable vitrines—each carrying live, ethically raised butterflies—into moving exhibitions through Latinx celebrations. Community members contribute words reflecting their immigration experience, forming an evolving visual archive. Rooted in Mexican cultural symbolism, the monarch represents ancestors returning to visit loved ones during Day of the Dead celebrations. The project highlights the crucial role both pollinators and Latinx agricultural workers play in food production the project asks: How can acts of migration, human and animal alike, illuminate resilience, remembrance, and sustainability?
The Ofrendas & Art Exhibition in the Pilar Pobil Celebration Gallery gives community members and local organizations the opportunity to remember and honor deceased loved ones as a part of the larger Dia de Los Muertos celebration at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center. Making a Day of the Dead altar, or ofrenda, is a traditional way many choose to honor the lives of those who were important to them, or a way to remember their ancestors. Also featured in the gallery are art installations by artists who have incorporated themes and iconography associated with Day of the Dead into their works.
