PBS - Honoring Librarians

What makes a library one of the most beloved spaces in a community? Often, it's the librarians who curate that space. This month's Shared Stories shines a light on the librarians who help turn libraries into places of discovery, connection, and possibility.

Join us for an evening where great books find new readers! Participate in our community book exchange by bringing a gently used book. Create a personalized bookmark to tuck inside the book you're passing along and take home someone else’s used treasure.

Pop in our screening room to catch clips from How to Build a Library from POV where we follow two Kenyan women as they confront questions of history, identity, and access while working to reclaim a colonial-era library for the people of Nairobi.

Finally, we’ll gather to put local librarians' expertise to the test during a fun, fast-paced “what do you recommend?” challenge.

Whether you're an avid reader, a lifelong library supporter, or simply looking for your next great book, this evening offers a chance to connect with fellow library lovers, learn something new about your local library, and celebrate the spaces where discovery and connection can thrive.
