a celebration gallery exhibition Photo courtesy Keith Hill, Wasatch Camera Club Beauty, Brawn, Commerce & Travel: Photography of U.S. Railroads Photography by the Wasatch Camera Club In May we celebrate the 150th year of the completing of the transcontinental railroad. That event not only transformed passenger travel and commerce, but also gave the nation a source of pride and optimism about its future. It lifted hundreds of thousands from poverty and imprinted generations with a can-do spirit that is still with us today. With Promontory Summit within the state’s boundaries it is entirely fitting that the Utah Cultural Celebration Center present an exhibit of railroad photography titled, Beauty, Brawn, Commerce & Travel: Photography of U.S. Railroads. The exhibit will share approximately 30 railroad images taken by Utah photographers that capture a variety of dramatic moments of railroads past and present. may 2 - june 26OPENING RECEPTION MAY 10, 6 - 9 PM FREE ADMISSION Sponsored by:
