a plaza level gallery exhibition The Wonder of Watercolor: Paintings by Bonnie Merrill and Jackie Bird Bonnie Merrill has studied watercolor painting extensively with teacher and mentor, Harold Petersen. She owes her passion for watercolor, and now, her career as an art teacher, to Mr. Petersen. In August 2016, Bonnie began teaching watercolor at The Art Cottage at Gardner Village. One of her first students was Jackie Bird. Jackie was an oil painter who had studied with Valoy Eaton in high school. She was interested in learning to paint watercolors, was immediately hooked on the medium, and progressed rapidly. Jackie was asked to join the teaching staff at The Art Cottage. She eventually moved to Grantsville and began teaching in her home where she now has 50 private students. Jackie also teaches art to 350 children at the local grade school. Both Bonnie and Jackie find great satisfaction in teaching art and helping their students express themselves visually, particularly with the magical medium of watercolor. june 1 - july 9FREE ADMISSION Sponsored by:
a plaza level gallery exhibition Inspired by living in a technological world, West Valley City Artist Erik Jensen uses recycled computer keys to create pixelated artworks. He simplifies the beauty of things and mixes it with the technology we are a part of. His process includes dyeing the keys to implement colors. There are even hidden messages written within each of the artworks. March 27 - May 28FREE ADMISSION Sponsored by:
