“Utah Travels” (exhibit dates: March 6 - April 30, 2014) is a photo exhibit highlighting remarkable photographic images captured by Utahn’s during their diverse travel experiences. The exhibit allows an opportunity for professional and amateur photographers of all ages to publicly present their most distinct travel photos and to share the stories of their experiences with a short descriptive paragraph. Images may represent destinations thousands of miles away or a few miles from home. Photos accepted into the exhibit will reflect the beauty, richness and diversity of people, events, nature, culture and all that celebrates humanity and planet earth. The Utah Cultural Celebration Center celebrated the 7th annual Winter Market on November 30, 2013. Between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., the Market showcased Utah’s finest handcrafted art and ethnic products. The lively crowd were able to witness fabulous live performances from local dance groups, musical artists, and cultural associations. In addition, the Trees of Diversity exhibit complemented the market through its festive environment. There was no admission to the market, which items from traditional folk artists and local craftsmen.
Susan Klinker, Associate Director of Programming at the UCCC said that, "the market is a place where the community can come together to celebrate local artisans and artists."
When asked if the market serves as a place to give artists a place to sell their creations, she said, "no doubt. That is where we serve a dual mission to give the local community an opportunity to purchase something one-of-a-kind. Our goal is to facilitate the exchange between artist and community member, so that the entire community has a personal connection to local art and artists."
