Reawakened Beauty @ Cottonwood Pond
Calling all Sunset Strollers, Shutterbugs, and Wordsmiths!
We invite you to celebrate Hunter High School’s exhibit “Reawakened Beauty @ Cottonwood Pond” by participating in the Center for Documentary Expression and Art’s (CDEA) River Walk on August 20th from 6-8 PM. Participants will walk from the Jordan River Parkway trail, adjacent to the Utah Cultural Celebration Center, north to the site undergoing restoration by Hunter High School students. This short and easy walk will be led by ecologist Dr. Ty Harrison who will astound you with his knowledge of the riparian corridor. Learn about native plants, local wildlife, and stormwater retention. Photographer extrodinaire, Kent Miles, will also be on hand to help you with tips from his trade, so remember to bring your camera. Eco-poet and ephemeral sculptor, Holly Simonson, will offer her insights into the language of place. Join us to discover the wonders of our urban river.Participants will meet at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center in rooms 101-102 before heading out. Refreshments will be served.
